Bromley First Responders Rescue at least 100 from Frozen Ski Lift
Peru, VT: At least 100 mountain riders were lowered by ropes as the Sun Mountain Express ski lift on Bromley Mountain stopped when wind gust of 40 miles per hour caused empty chairs to flip and tangle cables in frigidly cold weather on December 25, 2017. First responders were ready to evacuate the fail lift and everyone was back on the ground within 2 hours. Temperatures were well below 25 degrees.
Bromley Mountain is home to forty seven trails on three hundred acres with a crowd pleasing variety of skiing terrain for all levels of ability. Terrain difficulty is pretty evenly divided, with 35% beginner, 34% intermediate and 31% for advanced winter lovers. We are the only major ski area in New England with a southern exposure, guaranteeing sun-drenched smiles for all!

Snowmaking service is as follows: 90% beginner, 70% intermediate, and 95% advanced trails. Combined totals 86% snowmaking on skiable terrain.
